Marc Jacobs Leaving Louis Vuitton

After months of speculation, Marc Jacobs has announced he is leaving Louis Vuitton to focus on the eventual public offering of the Marc Jacobs brand. Jacobs’ successor at Vuitton has not been announced, though indicators continue to point to Nicolas Ghesquière as a strong candidate. Jacobs has been at Louis Vuitton for 16 years, where he helped to transform the brand and give it an international fashion presence. He pioneered the idea of fashion-art collaborations and staged elaborate and extravagant shows in Paris. We’ll keep our ears open for more on this breaking news!

Saks Debuts New E-commerce Site

Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th has launched In addition, Off 5th stores are opening in neighborhood and city centers. Online, the discounts are up to 55 percent off, and include women’s ready-to-wear, footwear, handbags, accessories, jewelry, watches, menswear, and beauty products. Customer service is also available 24 hours a day and the site offers brands that may have limited distribution in select stores. The FashionFix flash sales feature has moved from to as well. Until recently, brands rejected the idea of off-price retailers from launching e-commerce sites because they didn’t want customers associating their brand with bargain shopping.

Joe Fresh Launches Online Shopping in Canada

With rival fashion competitors already online, Joe Fresh has launched an e-commerce website in Canada. Sales at JC Penney here in the US are dwindling and until now, Joe Fresh only been available online through the department store. The JC Penney partnership launched in March of this year as part of the department store’s makeover. Joe Fresh also has has six stores in New York state and more than 350 in Canada. The new website features over 3,000 items for women, men, and children, with beauty products and accessories available in the future. Customers receive free shipping on orders of $50 or more. We wonder if Joe Fresh will launch online shopping here in the US!
