Fall ’13 Trend: Borrowing From The Boys

Fashion-Trend-Borrowing-from-the-boysYou might want to take a cue from the boys again this season, and shop menswear inspired looks for Fall ’13. Menswear has been on trend a few seasons now, but be sure to add a feminine twist this fall. You still want to think about tailored trousers, crisp button-downs, blazers, and brogues, but styled in a feminine way. The menswear trend works best and looks most balanced on women when paired with softer elements in fabrics (silks and velvets), silhouettes (draping and fitted) and colors (pinks and peaches). Remember to think about balance. Too much of a menswear look is not a good thing. Here are some of my picks to get you started on your menswear journey and nailing the look:

2. Lovers + Friends Bisous Coat, $304

4. Nicholas ID Bracelet, $99

5. Marc by Marc Jacobs Top Chicret Top Handle Satchel, $398

6. Paul Smith Black Label Cuff Trousers, $375

7. McQ – Alexander McQueen Plaid Blazer, $995

8. Charles Henry Houndstooth Work Shirt, $172

9. Michael Kors Lexington Watch, $225

10. 3.1 Phillip Lim Quinn Loafers, $525
