Back in September ’06, when Second City Style was still an infant, I posted about my love of Laura Mercier scents and how I literally stalked the counter at Bloomingdales in Chicago for the much anticipated (by me) Gourmande Collection debut. At the time there were 5 scents and I had a hard time settling on just one (I finally picked the Vanille Gourmande and think I called it ‘man glue’…I was not yet married). Fast forward several years later. I’m married, have two kids, and Laura Mercier Gourmand is now husband glue!
My new addiction? Laura Mercier Fresh Fig Soufflé Body Créme from the Fig Collection.This collection embodies the sweet, fresh and intoxicating scent of Celeste figs blended with fruit bouquets of apricot nectar and ylang ylang to create this one-of-a-kind scent. It’s not subtle, so if you like a very light scent, this may not work for you. A little goes a long way, but I think it smells just as amazing as the other Gourmande scents I have come to covet. If you have never tried Laura Mercier’s souffle body creams, you are missing one of life’s great luxuries. It can turn the roughest of skins to silk with one application. I kid you not.
Also included in the collection, which I have not tried yet, are;
- Crème Body Wash, $36
- Honey Bath, $40
- Hand Crème, $15
- Scrub, $46
- Eau Gourmande, $50
- Body Butter, $35
– Lauren Dimet Waters
