Beauty: Five New Nude Nail Colors For Fall

October 21, 2013 • Beauty, Magazine

Every fall I seem to be on the hunt for new gorgeous nude colors for my nails. I happened to stop into Sephora last week, and was helped by a good friend of mine, who adorned my nails in colors he claimed ‘I would drool over.’ Nude polish is the perfect accessory to any wardrobe, and never competes with the season’s colors. Here are some of my favorite finds on my quest for the perfect nude nail polish.

This first color you are sure to love is from the new Marc Jacobs Beauty line. Not only does he now offer cosmetics, but some of the most gorgeous nail lacquers you will find. When I first tried these I didn’t know what to expect. Stamping a name on a product does not always make it great, but these nail lacquers are by far some of the best I have tried. At first swipe, I noticed how pigmented and thick the polish was, which means one coat will do. I tried ‘Daisy’ which is a beige tinted pearl color, that looked amazing on my skin tone, and anyone’s probably for that matter. Inspired by Marc’s highly lacquered coffee table, Enamored Hi-Shine Lacquer is formulated with patented bonding agents that gives a plasticized, wet look. The color was gorgeous, and lasted for days, even without a top coat. Needless to say, I was smitten and want every color in this nail lacquer line.

I can’t talk nails without talking about Deborah Lippmann. I have a hard crush on her nail polishes and even more so her nude colors. Her polishes scream ‘sophistication’ and have great coverage and lasting power. What better way to go into fall than with her new sheer lacquers? Naked is a universal nude, that looks good one everyone, but if you like more of a pink nude, Baby Doll has just a slight hint of pink undertones.

I always prefer a great eco-friendly nail polish. One of my favorite lines that has a great selection of colors is Julep Nail Color. The color ‘Audrey’ is a beautiful nude soft light pink with micro-shimmer. Julep Nail Color is “4-free” and does not contain formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, toluene or DBP. It’s chip-resistant and highly pigmented and a portion of the sale of Julep polishes are donated to organizations that support women through their Powered by Girlfriends program.

While in Sephora, I couldn’t leave without trying Sephora’s new Formula X’s New Neutrals. Sephora brand always has some of the best long-lasting polishes, and Formula X does not slack. Sephora claims this new generation of neutrals embraces the art of minimalism and are infused with luminescent ingredients to enhance color and overall shine. This polish was extremely fast-drying, ultra smooth and lasted for days. I’m a new fan and I’m sure you will be too!

I always like trying something new and fun, but simplicity has to come first. I’m really  into gel nails, and have been for some time. Not only does your color last for weeks, but the colors are so vivid and shiny. I adore Sally Hansen’s new Salon Insta-Gel Strips Gel Nail Color Strips. Who wouldn’t love an easy 2-step manicure in a strip? Since I’m a mom on-the-go, I need every precious moment I can get and a salon is not always on the agenda. You will love this easy system in creating beautiful nails, and ‘Pink Pong’ is a great nude color to try. This kit comes with 16 Gel Polish Strips, 1 gel Top Coat, 2 Nail Cleaner Pads, a Cuticle Stick, File & Buffer. It’s definitely one to try for fall!
