Topshop and Pinterest Team Up For Holiday Campaign
Topshop has collaborated with Pinterest on its holiday campaign, called “Dear Topshop,” which will be activated across all of the brand’s platforms, including stores, online, social media and editorial.
Launching yesterday, the Topshop homepage transformed to feature quirky dropdown options for shoppers looking for “A Gift That Will Wow” or something for “Someone Who Loves Sparkle.” Topshop hopes that these categories will help its customers find the perfect gift or party season outfit. The products returned in the search can then be pinned, shared on Facebook or Twitter, or shopped. The most pinned products will be featured on the TOPSHOP.com homepage every day.
Additionally, a competition will run on Pinterest, whereby users can create holiday-inspired boards for the chance to win prizes including shopping sprees, the opportunity to design a “dream dress,” tickets to the brand’s Fashion Week show and invitations to the launch of Kate Moss’ upcoming collection for Topshop.
Pamela Love Launches Interactive E-Commerce Campaign With Barney’s
Recently, jewelry designer Pamela Love came in second place in a contest run by the CFDA/VogueFashion Fund and Kate Spade recently, missing out on the grand prize, a full-page ad in Vogue’s September issue. Even though Love didn’t win, her entry, a campaign that was illustrated by her husband Matthew Nelson, caught the attention of the panel, which decided to mentor the designer pro-bono. At the suggestion of the judges, Love animated her illustration of a well-accessorized woman sitting in front of a world map pointing at a globe with her eyes closed. Customers can click on the animated baubles, which twinkle as the globe rotates, and purchase Love’s items
Gwyneth Paltrow and GOOP Team Guest Edit Red Magazine
The British women’s lifestyle magazine Red, a Hearst publication, has been getting some extra attention in advance of its December issue, which hits U.K. newsstands on Wednesday. Gwyneth Paltrow appears on the cover, while the team from her lifestyle Web site Goop has guest edited sections including “Less is More,” about lighter, healthy alternatives to holiday cooking, and “Goodwill to Yourself,” about how to stop being Little Miss Perfection during the festive season.
The magazine’s new editor in chief Sarah Bailey — formerly of U.S. and U.K. Harper’s Bazaar — conducted her interview at the actress’ Hamptons, N.Y., home over the summer, and the timing of the guest-edited issue was merely a coincidence.
