Made in Chicago presented by AIBI has recently re-opened in the Gold Coast. The unique retailer is nestled in a chic brownstone at 17 E. Pearson Street, between Loyola campus buildings. The new location holds two main selling floors and a lower-level sale area.
Made in Chicago represents a collaborative effort to showcase and sell Chicago designer merchandise. It’s not only a platform for the city’s design community, but also a help and support for industries including, sewers, pattern-makers, and contractors that produce apparel in the USA. The store is open seven days a week and inclusively offers stylish, trendy, unique apparel and accessories, including millinery, sportswear and eveningwear.
The store features twelve fascinating designers, some of which includes, Takara Beathea-Guddell whose line Takara shows her love of architecture, which is revealed in almost every design, from her fleece coats for winter, to day dresses, linen shirts and jackets, and fabulous rain slickers that fly off the shelves! Standout designer Dana Killion has received raved reviews for her superb, sophisticated women’s sportswear line that’s meant to be “seasonless” with transferable color palette and fabric choices. Last, but not least, how can anyone not love Elda de la Rosa. Elda’s couture line of evening and bridal wear is sophisticated, elegant, classy and just simply divine! Her exceptional pieces have been worn by many local celebrities, at almost every Chicago red carpet event.
