Butter LondonButter London in Talks With Estée Lauder

Estée Lauder Inc. is reportedly in early talks to acquire the cosmetics brand Butter London. Founded in 2005 by British entrepreneur Sasha Muir and manicurist Nonie Creme, Butter exclusively made nail color at its start. It has expanded and now offers lip, eye, and cheek colors, available at Ulta and on butterlondon.com.

Kara Ross Opens NYC Flagship

Kara Ross’ first stand-alone store opens today at 655 Madison Avenue in New York. The new uptown flagship was designed by Ross and interior designer Tony Ingrao. “It’s like a little jewel box,” said Ross of the space, which counts Michael Kors, Barneys New York, and Brian Atwood as its neighbors. The 275-square-foot store features cream-colored walls and gold cabinets with accents of mother of pearl. The flagship sells pieces from Ross’ fine jewelry and handbag collections. The designer’s lower-priced line, Kara by Kara Ross, is available online only.

Glamour Honors Women of the Year

Earlier this week, Glamour Magazine held its annual Women of the Year awards at Carnegie Hall in Manhattan. The touching ceremony honors a broad range of women for their good works. Star power was out in full force as Hillary Rodham Clinton, Barbra Streisand, Lady Gaga, and Selena Gomez were all in attendance. The most emotional speeches came from former congresswoman and shooting survivor Gabby Giffords and Sandy Hook Elementary school teacher Kaitlin Roig-DeBellis, who protected her students during the shooting. The highest praise of the night was reserved for Malala Yousafzai, the young Pakistani woman who was shot by the Taliban. Other honorees included Donna Karan, Melinda Gates, Catherine Martin, Natalie Massenet, Christy Turlington, Liya Kebede, and surfer Carissa Moore.

Lady Gaga is the New Face of Versace

Lady Gaga will be featured in Versace’s spring advertising campaign. Reportedly, fashion photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott snapped the images in London. Donatella Versace and Gaga’s relationship goes back to 2011, when the pop star wore vintage Versace dresses for “The Edge of Glory” music video.
