Oscar de la Renta Debuts Second Collection for The Outnet
Oscar de la Renta has designed a second collection for The Outnet, Net-a-Porter’s discount site. With pieces that are more affordable than de la Renta’s main line, the collection is made in the same factory using leftover fabrics from the designer’s main collection. Prices range from $325 for a top to $1,095 for an evening dress. The 19-piece collection will go on sale at theoutnet.com on December 17. It is expected to sell out quickly, so mark your calendars!
Giambattista Valli Opening First Store in Italy
Giambattista Valli has two shops in Passage de la Madeleine in Paris, and he will soon have a third- this time in his native Milan. Located in Via Sant’Andrea, the boutique is designed by architect Luigi Scialanga and is located in a historical building. “To open up a boutique is the best way to present your own world, as well as the philosophy and the lifestyle that comes with it,” Valli said. He plans to open up more “Valli Houses” all over the world, with each one dedicated to local culture.
Christian Dior Taps New Shoe Designer
Christian Dior reportedly has a talented new shoe designer working with Raf Simons and his ready-to-wear team. Francesco Russo has started working at the famed fashion house, according to inside sources. Russo, who for the past five years was creative director for Sergio Rossi, also has his own eponymous footwear label. The label, which launched in September, even has its own atelier on Rue de Valois in Paris.
