One of Lindsay Degen's fun knits

Lindsay Degen

Have you recently walked into Victoria’s Secret or Converse and have noticed the quirky, fun knits? The designer is Brooklyn designer Lindsay Degen.  The 25-year-old was only 3, when her grandma taught her how to knit.  Later she studied fine art at the Rhode Island School of Design, but never even considered a career in fashion until she moved to NYC.

Then after signing with a publicist in 2011, Degen showed her first knitwear collection at New York Fashion Week. Making $20K working as a model for T.J. Maxx, she was able to fund for her first and second collections.

On her site Degen-nyc.com you can find her custom knits (even one worn by Jessica Hart recently on the Victoria’s Secret runway). Who knows? You could even score an item worn by fans Nicki Minaj or Christina
