Every New Year, I reorganize my wardrobe and either give away or throw away pieces that don’t fit me or my style – it’s a great way to start the next year feeling refreshed. Here are my 2014 fashion resolutions:
1. Stop saving my favorite items for special occasions – while wearing a sequined cocktail dress to the office probably won’t work, most of my favorite pieces (especially jewelry, scarves, and shoes) can be worn nearly every day. Wear your good stuff!
2. Develop an awesome capsule wardrobe that will work for a variety of climates – 2014 is going to be full of traveling for me, so it is the perfect time to figure out the perfect collection that fits in a standard carry-on.
3. Remove anything that could be considered tween or girly from my closet. It’s a style that works for a lot of people, but doesn’t suit me and there’s no need to keep anything I don’t wear – might as well free up space for things I love!
4. Have more fun with my hair. It’s just hair, it grows back and can always be colored. Right now I have a bright red streak in my platinum blonde. Same goes for nails – polish is easy to change!
