If you are one of the 100+ former unpaid interns for Elite Model Management than we have news for you! Elite has agreed to pay a $450,000 settlement to a group of past interns. The pay-out is the largest awarded to date, and from now on each former intern will receive a minimum compensation of $700. Interns have Dajia Davenport to thank for it. In February 2013, Davenport filed a $50 million lawsuit after Elite, “deliberately misclassifies its interns as exempt from wage requirements.” Even though it is not exactly what Davenport wanted the two parties did come up with an agreement, and now Elite interns can celebrate.
