Carrie Underwood Named Almay Brand Ambassador
Beauty brand Almay has announced Carrie Underwood is their new global brand ambassador. The country singer will star in television, print, in-store, and digital campaigns. “Carrie embraces Almay’s approach to beauty and products. Despite her enormous success, she is still a real girl from Oklahoma at the core and a self-professed makeup junkie who likes to try out new makeup looks in her spare time,” said Julia Goldin, global chief marketing officer of Revlon Inc. Underwood also released a statement saying, “I love Almay’s positive approach to beauty because it’s so important to celebrate our natural beauty and enhance what makes us unique.” Her first ad debuts this week.
U.K. Town & Country Launching
Hearst U.K. will launch a British version of Town & Country magazine in May. Its articles and features will be similar to the American version. In addition, the debut of Harper’s Bazaar France was set for this year, but has been delayed while the search is on for a new editor in chief. The magazine will be in the same family as French Marie Claire and French Cosmopolitan.
Coach Sales Decline in U.S.
This morning, Coach reported a 9% drop in North American sales, which missed expectations on profit and revenue. Shares of Coach stock plummeted 7% in pre-market trading. The retailer’s second quarter sales decreased from $1.08 billion to $983 million from last year, which is a 9% drop. In addition, store sales fell 13.6% from last year. Here’s hoping their rebranding will help Coach soon!
