Diane von Furstenberg Signs On at Brookfield Place

Downtown’s other major retail project Brookfield Place is taking shape. Diane von Furstenberg is the latest designer to sign a lease, taking a 2,000-square-foot store at the urban mall in lower Manhattan. “Diane von Furstenberg is a New York brand,” said Ed Hogan, national director of retail leasing for Brookfield. “It speaks to the people living and working downtown. Brookfield Place, which is scheduled to open in March 2015 with an Equinox gym, will feature retailers such as Hermès, Burberry, Ferragamo, Michael Kors, Ermenegildo Zenga, Scoop, Judith and Charles, Eileen Fisher, Theory and Calypso St. Barth. Ferragamo and Burberry will command the most space, with stores of 5,000 square feet each.

Stuart Vevers Ready to Unveil First Coach Collection

All eyes are on Stuart Vevers this fashion week. But Coach’s new executive creative director, who is set to unveil his first collection for the American leather goods house on Thursday. During an exclusive preview at Coach’s West 34th Street headquarters in New York, Vevers articulated his vision for a new Coach with confidence. In four months, the designer pulled together the new direction for the brand, which he hopes the fall women’s collection will crystallize. It features a full apparel lineup — outerwear being a focus — and a new, younger vibe for Coach’s accessories assortment.

Glamour Celebrates 75th Anniversary With a Makeover

Cindi Leive, Glamour Editor-in-Chief showed off the March issue with what she called the first true reflection of all the recent changes in the masthead. Featuring Taylor Swift on its cover, accompanied by an interview written by Leive herself, the magazine is shaking up its well features, and it’s starting with the March issue. Celebrating Glamour’s 75th anniversary, the issue, hitting newsstands today, is focusing more on its heritage and placing a greater emphasis on fashion.
