Snow the New Trend for NYFW
The clothes on the runway are not the only thing designers, retailers, writers and everyone should be watching. The snow storm in New York has been taking a toll on New York’s Fashion Week and it is only going to get worse. Wednesday brought cancelled flights to the big apple making viewers late or not present for the shows early in the day. However, Sunday is the day many are fearing. With an estimated 3 to 30 inches of snow attendees are wondering of cancellation. A spokesperson said all shows are planned but if the forecast changes we will reevaluate.
Saks Fifth Avenue has jumped on the sneaker craze and it’s benefiting them very well. On the seventh floor at their New York shop shoppers can find a new shoe display exclusively for sneakers. In recent years men have found themselves paying close attention to their feet and are often willing to pay the extra bucks for a new pair of kicks. The Saksneaks boutique is located right next to their regular shoe department and also the men denim. Men will buy a new pair of shoes and then buy a pair of jeans to match, bumping sales. Designer sneaks you’ll find are: Jimmy Choo, Givenchy, Dior, Prada and much more. Saks Fifth Avenue have plans for events in Houston, Chicago and Boston for the collection opening and plan on using big name athletes to get the name out.
