(Another) Karl Lagerfeld Exhibit Opens

This weekend,
“Karl Lagerfeld: Parallel Contrasts,” opened at the Museum Folkwang in Essen, Germany. The exhibit has 15,000 square feet of space dedicated to the iconic designer. More than 400 items are displayed including photographs, illustrations, design objects, films, vintage posters, models of stage sets, runway videos, and pieces from the Chanel fall 2014 couture collection. The showcase is considered to be the “first major museum exhibit on Germany’s most internationally important designer” and runs through May 11th.

China Seizes Counterfeits

More than 12,000 counterfeit goods were detained during a series of planned raids in Shanghai. The city’s most famous fake markets were searched, including Nanjing West Road’s market, where officials found 5,736 items claiming to be from brands like Chanel, Longchamp, and Ugg. Clothing factories were also raided and 2,100 pieces of counterfeit clothing were seized. It wasn’t all about fashion- 1,263 fake Samsung phones were confiscated as well.

Cara Delevingne Designs for Mulberry

Instead of a runway show this season, Mulberry debuted a new collection of bags, designed by model Cara Delevingne. They were presented in a dreamy forest themed presentation at London Fashion Week. Delevingne, who also stars in the brand’s spring-summer campaign, designed a multi-tasking bag for women on the go. “I was quite strong about what I wanted- something practical for the modern-day woman or man,” she said. Delevingne also emphasized she wanted her designs to be durable, stating, “I usually wear bags until they break. If I like them I want to wear them all the time.” The collection consists of one style in three sizes, but comes in variety of different colors and materials. The bags will be available for purchase in August online and in Mulberry boutiques worldwide.
