New York Fashion Week just wrapped up and London Fashion Week is taking place now. Everyone knows how much I adore clothing and accessories designed by British designers. And it’s not just your classics that everyone across the globe knows like the back of their hands with brands like Vivienne Westwood or Burberry. There are innovators like Huishan Zhang bringing forth vibrant clashing yet complementary prints, Pringle of Scotland adding a sweet touch to perennial knitwear and a fun and flirty touch to sleek heels and pointed toe from Sophia Webster.
I feel that each city participating in Fashion Week has its own purpose. While New York strives for classic commercialization, Paris strives for the art and beauty of couture, and Milan shows the innovation of Italian craftsmanship, London looks towards the joy and the fun of playing dress up in whatever floats your boat that day. Whether it be adding a fresh pair of kitten heels or a metallic foil sheath dress, adding a bit of fashion from across the pond is always a plus.
