Roberto Cavalli Opens Flagship in Milan

Roberto Cavalli has opened new Milanese flagship store. The new 16,200 square foot space is located on Via Montenapoleone and is now Cavalli’s biggest boutique in the world. It consists of five floors connected by a mother of pearl grand staircase and digital video walls on each level. The store carries ready-to-wear for women, men, and children, accessories, custom gowns and Cavalli’s home line. Cavalli has also designed a limited edition line of clothing and accessories available only at the new Milan location. The beloved designer revealed he is developing another line. “I’m creating a more casual and fun line of t-shirts and sweaters for the Roberto Cavalli label. Then, I would like to add a jeans range,” said Cavalli.

Jean Paul Gaultier Guest-Edits French Glossy  

Jean Paul Gaultier was tapped to guest-edit the March issue of the French publication Têtu. The iconic designer appears on the cover of the magazine and also styled an 18-page fashion shoot that depicts a same-sex wedding in Paris. Têtu editor in chief Yannick Barbe plans to invite a different designer to guest-edit each March issue from now on.

Wacoal Launching New Ad Campaign

Wacoal America Inc. is set to launch a multimillion-dollar ad campaign in May. Called “Wacoal Woman,” it features the new tag line: “The Art and Science of Intimates.” The campaign compares Wacoal’s bras to beauty products, saying both make women feel beautiful. “We are one of consumers’ go-to beauty products. She chooses Wacoal daily over all the other bras she may have in the drawer. In fact, among the 1,300 Wacoal wearers we polled, 75 percent of those who buy Wacoal bras wear them every day. So just like her favorite mascara, concealer or lip gloss, we are the one she relies on, because we work and we are her most comfortable bra,” said Susan B. Malinowski, vice president of marketing. The images will debut in fashion magazines this spring, and this fall will appear in a wider range of publications.
