Executives of Express avoid the term “flagship” but looking at the new Express in Times Square – term certainly be used. It is the largest and flashiest location in the chain. The store features: a 9,000 square foot LED screen on the exterior, a glass enclosed chandeliered room for dresses, marbled checkout counters, and much more. The chairman and chief executive officer, Michael Weiss, describes it as, “Express on steroids.” The store is planning on having a grand opening in late March and just had a soft opening this past Thursday. This Express is unlike any other. A typical Express is one level and 8,000 square feet while this one is three levels and 22,500 square feet. In this case bigger might be definitely better.
