Nicolas Ghesquière’s Debut Very Secretive

On March 5, the fashion world will collectively hold their breath as Nicolas Ghesquière‘s first collection for Louis Vuitton will make its runway debut. The anticipation is heightened by the fact that Ghesquière is being extra secretive and refusing to give previews or interviews until the show. In addition, Louis Vuitton is celebrating its 160th anniversary this year.

Vogue Paris Begins Fashion Fund

Vogue Paris has announced the creation of a fashion fund to assist Paris’ Palais Galliera, make acquisitions and mount future exhibitions of contemporary fashion and photography. The fund consists of an annual grant of 100,000 euros, or $137,417. The fashion magazine will also host a fundraising gala annually during couture week. “Many international editions of Vogue, including the American, British, Italian and Indian Vogue already have initiatives to back young creation. But young designers already get support in France…. It is in Vogue Paris’ DNA to give access to creation to the public,” said Vogue Paris publisher Delphine Royant.

Charlotte Rampling is Nars’ New Face

Charlotte Rampling has been tapped by Nars to front their upcoming 20th anniversary campaign. The iconic actress will be featured in a “black-and-white portrait-style image” shot by François Nars. “She is a natural beauty that feels strong, yet relatable. Charlotte’s ability of transformation is unparalleled. Whether captured in pieces of artwork, through the lens of a magazine photographer or on film and the big screen, she had an amazing power to encompass a character,” founder and creative director Nars said in a statement.

Stanley Korshak Expanding

Luxury retailer Stanley Korshak has announced plans to start a $2 million expansion project. The company had double-digit growth last year and upon completion, their Dallas location will span 73,000 square feet. Areas of expansion include woman’s apparel, bridal, menswear, accessories, and shoes. 
“It’s really the most exciting thing we’ve done in 10 years,” vice president Rose Clark said. 
Designers carried in the store include Vera Wang, Naeem Khan, Carolina Herrera, Alice + Olivia, Helmut Lang and Rag & Bone, Vince, and John Varvatos.
