Saks Fifth Avenue hosted an event featuring fashion designer Jason Wu on Thursday March 12, 2013 at the perfect setting: the sleek Art Institute of Chicago’s Modern Wing. For the second year Saks Fifth Avenue partnered with A Better Chicago and hostesses Trisha Rooney Alden, Stephanie Harris, Melissa McNally and Linda Johnson Rice to welcome Jason to Chicago. 100% of the ticket proceeds benefited A Better Chicago.
The event included light bites and cocktails highlighted by a runway presentation of Jason Wu’s Fall 2014 Collection recently shown at New York Fashion Week. Wu’s clean and luxurious collection focused on many of my favorite fall ’14 trends including shearling jackets, fur trim, fur handbags, leather and lace, midi length skirts, and oversized jackets – all in a deep jewel tone color pallet. The gowns in this collection offer striking asymmetric styling and sophisticated cut outs. Any of his pieces would be a prudent investment!

Jason Wu stayed in town and also made a public appearance at Saks on Michigan Avenue store the following day for a trunk show of his fall 2014 collection.
