Neiman Marcus is eying to enter New York City in a spot that will have a view of New Jersey. The upscale department store is getting closer to opening a flagship store at Hudson Yards on Manhattan’s West Side. The 1 million square foot retail complex is planned to open in 2018, with a multilevel store that could span upwards of 200,000 square feet. The Hudson Yards store would mark the first foray of the 107 year old Neiman Marcus brand in the big city. The reason behind the hesitation is because of the swanky Fifth Avenue Bergdorf Goodman (which Neiman’s owns) but due to the luxury boom in New York the now seem fine with two stores. However, a Neiman spokeswoman decline to comment on anything. Waiting with baited breath…Neiman’s and Nordstrom in NYC? Who would have believed that!
