Matches Selling Rare Jean Paul Gaultier Pieces

Luxury retailer and e-retailer Matches will have vintage Jean Paul Gaultier pieces for sale in their Maryleborne store and online. Matches got a hold of these pieces thanks to Cameron Silver of L.A.’s famous vintage shop Decades. The collection consists of 85 pieces that feature items like: an iconic corset made famous by Madonna, a men’s ‘80s style motorcycle jacket and a women’s sequin pullover. Retailing between $310 to $5,900 the collection will be up for purchase on April 9th, the same day when Gaultier’s retrospective opens at the Barbican museum in London. If you are not sold yet, the collection even includes never produced garments from the runway!

Vera Wang Opening in Beverly Hills

On top of designing her new wedding gown collection Vera Wang is also in the works of opening her new Beverly Hills bridal store on Saturday. Included in those plans is for the first time in 24 years Wang is set to film a visual presentation versus having a bridal runway show. The video will debut on April 13, on her websites and globally in her 17 bridal stores. Her store on Melrose Avenue closed last week after five years and while the North Rodeo Drive location presents her signature bridal collection it focuses on her eyewear. The new store will have a charcoal gray monolithic design and will attract a steady stream of tourists and international destination shoppers. As for other future plans, a Singapore store is due to open later this year or early 2015, and another set in Istanbul this spring. Wang also has her eyes set on Boston and Miami for future locations.

Chanel Launching Watch Campaign

Chanel is set to launch its first watch campaign in more than a decade. The 15 double page ads will feature black and white images of women and men with watches whose hands are positioned to mirror their pose. The campaign uses the tag line “L’Instant Chanel,” and debuted in French daily Le Figaro and will now appear in international daily, weekly and daily press in June, and also from mid May in the June issues of monthly international magazines.
