The images will portray the couture house’s style photographed by 80 of the world’s most famed photographers, including Richard Avedon, Irving Penn, Cecil Beaton, and Erwin Blumenfeld. The exhibit will cover more than 60 years of history with 200 images and 60 haute couture dresses. James Franco Directs for Gucci

Gucci is continuing to partner with James Franco, who is also the face of the Gucci Made to Measure fragrance for men. The actor has directed “Techno Color Sunglasses,” a video set to debut this month, which promotes Gucci’s new eyewear collection. The new Gucci Techno Color frames are the focus of the video, which has a retro vibe and depicts Franco and model Natalia Bonifacci. The short movie was filmed at the Chateau Marmont hotel in Los Angeles.

Coach Announces New Concept

Coach stores are getting a fresh makeover. The accessories brand has hired creative firm Studio Sofield to develop the new retail concept. This is the first retail change initiated by new executive creative director Stuart Vevers, who has also been working on his first full collection for Coach, debuting this fall. “As soon as you start working on the collection, you start thinking about the environment it’s going to be in,” he said. “Linking those becomes super important. It’s really important to have an environment that works with the collection, supports it, and to have somewhere that tells the new story.” The updated look will first be seen at brand’s 3,909-square-foot Rodeo Drive flagship in Beverly Hills and New York City’s Time Warner Center store. The retail makeovers will be completed this fall. In addition, Coach will open a new store in Tokyo as the first new location with the updated concept.
