Jimmy Choo’s new store on Rodeo Drive

Jimmy Choo Unveils New Store Concept

Jimmy Choo has chosen its Beverly Hills boutique on Rodeo Drive — a store that reflects its history as a go-to for footwear on the red carpet – as the location to introduce a new retail design concept. Created by David Collins Studio and designed to feel like a “fantasy closet”, the store has been expanded and is now the label’s largest in the U.S. The new store design will be gradually rolled out across a number of the label’s existing boutiques, including the Bond Street store in London, which will reopen in September. Choo will mark the Beverly Hills opening, and the launch of its new Choo.08 collection of flats, sneakers and boots, with a party at a private Hollywood Hills residence Tuesday night, at which the British band Bastille will perform and Solange Knowles will DJ. The Beverly Hills store will also carry Jimmy Choo’s full men’s and women’s collections of shoes and accessories, the first Jimmy Choo store in the U.S. — and outside Asia — to do so.

Juicy Couture Expanding in Europe

The Juicy Couture brand is expanding its retail presence in Europe via a partnership between Juicy’s brand owner Authentic Brands Group and the Folli Follie Group. Under the terms of the long-term partnership agreement, FFG will have the exclusive wholesale and retail distribution rights for the Juicy brand across Europe. The existing Juicy stores in the U.K. and continental Europe, such as the Regent Street flagship in the U.K. and the outlet at Kildare Village in Ireland, will be taken over by FFG.

Dior to Show Cruise Collection at Brooklyn Navy Yard

Feb. 8, 2014 goes down in fashion history as the day Alexander Wang broke outer-borough limits and got the industry to trek to Brooklyn for his fall show. Feb. 9, 2014 goes down as the day that no one could stop moaning about the experience getting to and from Brooklyn. And yet after all that bellyaching the Brooklyn Navy Yard still lives as a fashion show venue. None other than the venerable house of Christian Dior has chosen the Navy Yard as the site of its cruise 2015 fashion show on May 7 at 6:30 p.m. “We wanted the show to feel very New York, and the Navy Yard’s view and space captures the city,” said a spokeswoman for Dior.

Roland Mouret For Banana Republic

Now this is a collaboration we can’t wait for. It’s true, Roland Mouret will launch a 25-piece capsule collection of women’s apparel and accessories for Banana Republic. Known for his sharp lines and form-fitting sexpot dresses this collection will be much more affordable than his namesake line, ranging from $49.50 – $165. In case you don’t remember, Mouret designed a limited-edition dress line for Gap back in 2006. The Banana Republic collection will hit stores in the beginning of August, 2014.
