What do you think is fashion’s hardest challenge? Hands down it’s translating seasonal trends from runway to real way. As much as we praise Jenna Lyons for transforming athletic sweatpants into sleek casual wear, it’s hard for us to imagine rocking the aforementioned sweatpants in the corporate world.

And what’s one of this spring season’s trickiest trends? Metallics!

Metallics were spotted everywhere from DVF to Nonoo, and Rachel Zoe to Proenza Schouler. But, it’s so hard to incorporate the trend into your everyday wardrobe without looking like a 21st century Tin Man. The trick? Less is more. Adding a pop of silver via a clutch or a splash of metallic-finished heels instantly brings your outfit from blah to breathtaking. To help you break into the trend, I chose 5 drop-dead-gorgeous metallic pieces to ease you into the trend.

Once you find yourself well-adjusted to the lustrous look you might find yourself craving more. So I challenge you with this gold lamé mini frock from Saint Laurent. It screams 70s’ glamour in a modern way that will have you just itching to try it on. It must be said, this dress is major.
