Beauty: Get Ready Quick Makeup

April 28, 2014 • Beauty, Magazine

Are you always in a hurry? There never seems to be enough time to get ready and I never want to leave my house without wearing any makeup whatsoever. Even if it is only to go to the health club or run to the store I think it is important to look my best. That’s why I developed a set of “Get Ready Quick” beauty products that work for me and will work for you too! Think about the minimum products you could not live without, the items you would need if you were stranded on a dessert island. Then pick only 7 or 8 from that list. That’s your minimum “A-list” and the you can add a second string … for days when you do have a little more time.

Next I recommend putting those products on a tray along with the brushes you may need and you’ll always have your get ready quick makeup at your fingertips. Personally I can’t live without eye makeup, so your essentials may be different than mine. I have tested many beauty products and  have found a few that serve multiple purposes. Others make my list because they are easy to use. Here are 8 products that I can apply in under 5 minutes:

First I use Clarins BB Skin Perfecting Cream SPF 25 all over my face. It moisturizes, corrects, protects and has good coverage. Next I apply Jane Iredale Circle Delete Concealer, one swipe with my finger under each eye, 1-2 and that’s done.

For eyes, I start with butter LONDON Wink Cream Eye Shadow in Sun Kiss and apply a dot on each eye and blend over the lid with my finger to the brow. This is a triple purpose product: the yellow neutralizes, the shimmer highlights the browbone and it acts as a eye shadow base.

Now I finish my eyes using a favorite eyeshadow Tom Ford Eyeshadow Quad in Sahara Haze. A quad or even just 2 tones of shadow using a long handle brush is all you need to carve out the crease and add a little color to the lid. Next I use Ck One Color Eyeliner Marker. I admit this took a bit of practice but it goes on really fast once you get the hang of it. You can smudge it a bit if you mess up, too. Then I use L’Oreal Paris Voluminous Power Volume Mascara. I tested this mascara and the brush and the formula works best for me on upper and lower lashes.

I’m almost done! Next I take a big blush brush and use Cargo BeachBlush in Sunset Beach on my cheeks and around my face. A multicolored bronzer like this gives you the opportunity to use more or less color on your face and it can act as a finishing powder, too.

Last I brush Benefit Gimme Brow Brow-Volumizing Fiber Gel on my brows, especially where they are too thin and it controls where they are full. Oh, as for lipstick or lip gloss? Keep that in your handbag and you can put that on in the car/bus/elevator…

I’m ready in 5 minutes! I hope my list helps you figure out your own set of Get Ready Quick makeup. Then you, too, will always be prepared for those days that you just don’t have enough time! Like every day, right?
