Jason Wu Honored at Parsons Graduate Fashion Show

Parsons The New School for Design hosted a banner night Thursday, honoring standout alum Jason Wu and Hugo Boss. The featured student fashion show, taking place in its new futuristic University Center, raised $1.2 million for scholarships plus another $250,000 from Hugo Boss in the process. Parsons honored its top talent, namely women’s wear designer of the year Victoria Hayes, men’s wear designer of the year Simon Li and children’s wear designer of the year Ashley Yoon Chang.  Earlier in the day, the graduating designers had a dress rehearsal with the Parsons B.F.A. Fashion show. The runway presentation showcased selections from the designers’ collections from children’s wear with a street vibe to romantic tailored looks, as well as colorfully cut oversize furs.

Ralph Lauren Launches East Hampton Historical Collection

A longtime supporter of The East Hampton Historical SocietyRalph Lauren has now become a partner in the restoration of the Mulford Farm, including the Hedges Barn, in the Village of East Hampton, N.Y. As part of the contribution, Lauren created a special East Hampton Historical Collection, including hooded sweaters, branded East Hampton Historical Society T-shirts, baseball caps and beach totes. The pieces will be available beginning Memorial Day at the Polo Ralph Lauren East Hampton store and at, and 50 percent of the purchase price of each item from the collection will benefit The East Hampton Historical Society.

Pharrell Williams has a new ‘Girl’

Pharrell Williams was never going to take the traditional route for his first fragrance, a unisex scent called Girl. In collaboration with Comme des Garçons Parfum SA, the fragrance Girl — for girls and boys, will launch in London on Sept. 1 and roll out to the U.S. on Sept. 5. It will be sold at Dover Street Market internationally and at Sephora in the U.S., Canada and France. The fragrance features top notes of neroli, lavender and white pepper; middle ones of iris, styrax and violet, and base ones of vetiver, patchouli, cedarwood and sandalwood. The bottle, logo and packaging have been designed by House + Holme, featuring bold, cartoonish artwork by the artist Kaws — a friend of Williams’. The 100-ml. bottle is priced at $135, while a 10-ml. travel size version costs $30.
