Proenza Schouler to Add Swimwear

Proenza Schouler has signed a deal to design swimwear. Designers Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez have entered a licensing partnership with Swimwear Anywhere, which will also distribute the line. Twenty styles will debut today at resort previews. So far, the line includes bikinis and many styles of swimsuits, with some in tomboyish silhouettes. The swimwear takes inspiration from Proenza Schouler’s runway collections and some give a nod to a few of the designer’s archival prints. “We have wanted to do a swimwear collection for a while. The idea of doing swimwear was a natural evolution for us,” the designers said.

Britt Aboutaleb is Yahoo Beauty’s First Big Hire

Bobbi Brown, Editor-In-Chief of Yahoo Beauty, has hired Britt Aboutaleb as her right hand woman. Previously at Allure, Aboutaleb’s official job title is managing editor. She will carry out Brown’s editorial vision and handle Yahoo Beauty’s day-to-day work, which includes assigning and editing product reviews, beauty features and interviews. “Britt Aboutaleb is smart, innovative, and an amazing addition to the Yahoo Beauty team,” Brown said in a statement.

People Magazine is Revamped

Jess Cagle, the new editorial director of People, has made his first changes to the magazine. Starting with the June 16th issue, People Picks, Style Tracks and Chatter will be different. People Picks will now include apps, games, social feeds, online video and theater and Style Tracks will be more focused on fashion. The updated Chatter will now be located in the front of the magazine. There will also be a live online show everyday called “People Now.”
