Yes, you read that headline right. The newly rebooted Yahoo Beauty is up and running. The website is powered by Tumblr and it is one of the many “digital magazines” that Yahoo will launch. It is filled with “how-to” videos on makeup application, interviews, and personal essays. There will also be a section on “beauty food” and fitness.
The direction of the site will fall under the editor-in-chief, Bobbi Brown, along with help from the managing editor, Britt Aboutaleb and a handful of reporters and freelancers. About 20 to 40 percent of Yahoo Beauty’s content will include stories from partners like Vogue.com, Allure.com, Refinery29 and TheCut. The plan is to keep the site with fresh with meaningful content on a daily basis.
This relaunch is such a big deal and I’m excited to see where it will go, especially with our ever-changing technology advances.
Brown admitted that she might have some problems as she had when she started out in the makeup business, but that she will “rise above it.”
“I don’t really know a lot about this industry but I’m diving in,” Brown said.
