Coach Fall Collection Debuting at Colette
Parisians shoppers will be the first to get a taste of Stuart Vevers’ first collection for Coach. On June 30th, the brand’s fall ready-to-wear line will make its in-store debut at Colette. This is almost a full two months before any other retailer. The debut will be celebrated with a coach window at the store and the release of two exclusive bags: Ryder and Dakotah.
Google Android Wear Goes Live
The smart watch revolution was Webcast on Wednesday as David Singleton, the engineering director at Google, preached the virtues of the Android Wear operating system at the company’s developers conference, which was beamed around the world. Smart watches from Samsung Electronics Co. and LG Electronics were set to be available for preorder at Google’s Play store following the conference. “It’s finally possible to make a powerful computer small enough to wear comfortably on your body all day long,” Singleton said. “People will be wearing these small, powerful devices, so style is important.” He showed how the watch, can be paired to a phone, can update wearers on incoming texts and phone calls, take voice commands for calendar updates, give directions, call a car, deliver recipes and access social media.
Doug Mack Added to Kate Spade Board
Doug Mack has been named to the boards of directors of Kate Spade & Co., making the number of directors to 11. Mack’s term is effective immediately and will expire at the company’s 2015 annual shareholders’ meeting. Chairman of Kate Spade & Co. said, “Doug is an accomplished innovator with nearly 20 years of experience in online retail and technology industries. We look forward to his contributions as the company expands, both on- and off-line, around the world.”
