CeraVe Sun Care

You probably already know CeraVe for their non-irritating, non-comedogenic and fragrance-free lotions, but id you know they have launched a new and equally amazing sunscreen line? CeraVe Sun Care features eight sun care products that were developed with dermatologists and are suitable for all skin types. The line includes products for the face and body and has broad spectrum SPF 30 or SPF 50. Five of the CeraVe Sun Care formulations feature the line’s new Invisible Zinc technology which is a revolutionary, naturally sourced micro-fine zinc oxide that delivers a unique dry, clear finish on the skin while also delivering powerful protection from the sun’s damaging rays. All CeraVe Sun Care products are lightweight, oil-free and contain ceramides to help repair and restore the skin barrier.

I sampled both the face lotion and body lotion in SPF 50, so I will speak about those.

NEW CeraVe Sunscreen SPF 50 for Face is a lightweight, oil-free facial sunscreen that provides powerful zinc oxide protection against UVA and UVB rays. It contains the Invisible Zinc technology mentioned above. CeraVe claims the lotion goes on clear, but it actually goes on a little white. However, with a little blending in, it quickly becomes clear. CeraVeSunscreen SPF 50 for Face also contains key moisturizing ingredients such as ceramides and niacinamide to help repair and restore the skin barrier. Once applied, it is water-resistant for up to 80 minutes. I found the texture a little thick and drying. I would recommend it more for people with oilier skin.

CeraVe  Sunscreen SPF 50 for Body is a lightweight, purely physical sunscreen that provides powerful zinc oxide protection against UVA and UVB rays. It also contains Invisible Zinc technology and truly applies clear on the body while protecting it from the sun’s damaging rays. This sunscreen also contains ceramides to help repair and restore the skin barrier. Once applied, it is water-resistant for up to 80 minutes. I preferred the texture of this body lotion over the one for the face. It was much lighter and easier to apply.

The collection also consists of  CeraVe Sunscreen SPF 30 for Body, CeraVe Sunscreen SPF 30 for Face, CeraVe Sunscreen SPF 50 Sunscreen Stick, CeraVe Wet Skin Spray SPF 30/50 and CeraVe Wet Skin Spray SPF 50 for Kids, which I did not try.
