The edgy and iconic Southern California brand Fred Segal will bringing its heritage to Tokyo, Japan.
The company announced that it would open its international lifestyle center in spring of 2015. With this being the brand’s first location outside of the U.S., there will be three of five buildings occupied in a converted railway site at 13 Daikanyama-cho Shibuya-ku, Tokyo.
The stores will sell luxury men’s and women’s apparel, accessories, home and lifestyle categories. It will also include Fred Segal’s own merchandise and outside brands leaning toward local and international up-and-coming designers to “engage Japan’s trendsetters,” the company said. There will also be a spa and a café to reflect Fred Segal’s connection to Southern California culture. How cool is that?
The store is the first in a long-term partnership between SANDOW, owner of Fred Segal, and MARK STYLER Co. Ltd. to launch Fred Segal throughout Japan. The partnership deal was handled by Culture + Commerce, SANDOW’s creative management agency.
The Tokyo debut will be followed by several additional retail locations in other key Japanese cities, including flagship stores, lifestyle centers and branded boutiques within major, high-end department stores. Stay tuned to see what else Fred Segal has in store.
