Diane von Furstenberg’s New Jewelry Line
Diane Von Furstenberg will return to the fashion jewelry business after a 30-year hiatus. Her new line will include necklaces, earrings, rings and bracelets and was designed in collaboration with Haskell Jewels. “I still am doing fine jewelry, but people ask me for costume jewelry. They want to have the $300 necklace. People see me with a lot of jewelry, and I need to be able to make jewelry that people can afford that doesn’t compromise on the quality and design,” von Furstenberg said. Prices for the collection range from $68 to $628, which are lower than von Furstenberg’s high-end line, Diane von Furstenberg by H.Stern. The new collection will launch in DVF boutiques and department stores in February.
Coach Debuting Men’s Shoe Collection
Coach is set to launch a full men’s footwear collection. The brand has carried men’s shoes in the past, but never a full line. This is a huge step toward creating a men’s lifestyle brand, according to Greg Unis, Coach’s senior vice president of men’s global merchandising. The selection will include boots, sneakers and dress shoes and will be available in September exclusively at all Coach stores. Prices will range from $175 to $495. Inside sources say Coach may unveil a men’s ready to wear line in February during New York Fashion Week.
Temperley London and Net-a-porter’s Film
Temperley London and Net-a-porter.com will debut a shoppable fashion film. Seamless shopping and viewing is made possible using new technology from the video platform Cinematique. Viewers will be able to store an item on their wish list, share it or buy it. The film will launch Wednesday on Net-a-porter.com for one week. It will then appear on temperleylondon.com. Alice’s siblings Henry and Matilda Temperley shot the project, while Alice acted as creative director. “The digital, technical and creative vision between all of us worked from the very beginning, and it felt like the perfect collaboration. We’re doing something innovative and groundbreaking, but also really fun,” the designer said. In addition, Temperley has designed three limited-edition dresses exclusively for Net-a-porter.
