Fall 2014 Trend (You Can Wear Now): Fall’s Pastel Palette

August 14, 2014 • Fashion Blog, Trends

Get ready to spring into fall! After last winter’s pastel trend, it should come as no surprise that the palette once only associated with spring is now apparently for all-year-round. Designers like Narciso Rodriguez, Derek Lam, Phillip Lim, Jil Sander and houses like Gucci and Burberry Prorsum (just to name a few) showed everything from wool coats, to shearling jackets and leather to lace in every pastel color you can imagine. It should be clear by now that pastels have been winterized. So if you didn’t pick up that baby pink wool coat last year, there’s no need to kick yourself. If you are not sure how to wear pastels, don’t defer to just the obvious black. Here are some combinations you can try: pastel pink with nude; lavender and off-white; baby blue and silver; mint green and nude; lemon yellow with navy. Take a look at some of the pastel items available right now in the slide show above and don’t be afraid to wear them now and all winter long!
