Kenzo At PrintempsKenzo Pop Up at Printemps

Kenzo took over a portion of Printemps in Paris with a graphic and surreal backdrop for its six-week pop-up store located in an atrium space at the department store’s Boulevard Haussmann flagship. A psychedelic booth for selfies, salty-caramel popcorn and iBeacon technology are all part of the fun. On Thursday the space was humming with young shoppers viewing giant mannequins stepping out of mirrors, refecting Kenzo’s David Lynch-inspired advertising campaign. Kenzo and Printemps created a dedicated app, which includes a treasure hunt for letters scattered around the pop-up, which create dazzling special effects on handheld devices when they are found along with a chance to win a Kenzo sweater.

IT Cosmetics, Ulta Team for Brush Line

IT Cosmetics is making a sweep at Ulta Beauty as the company launches a makeup-brush collection of 65 stockkeeping units in a co-branding venture with the 700-door retail chain. Housed in 12 feet of merchandising space, the new collection, called IT Brushes for Ulta, is being rolled out to 500 Ulta doors, with the full distribution expected to be completed by Sunday. In the remaining units, the 12 most popular must-have brushes will be merchandised on three-foot endcaps. In addition, for each month of the year, one of the 12 brushes will be displayed at the cash-wrap counter.

The collection consists of 56 brushes in three collections, plus nine brush sets. Price points range from $12 to $54 for individual brushes and up to $98 for the sets. The most expensive brush is a deluxe version that contains 100,000 microfine hairs.

JustFab Raises $85 Million in Funding

JustFab Inc. has raised $85 million in funding to enable the fashion and accessories e-commerce company’s expansion in Western Europe and next year’s full-scale launch into apparel. Led by San Francisco-based Passport Special Opportunity Fund with participation from existing investors Matrix Partners, Technology Crossover Ventures and Shining Capital Management — which last year invested $35 million — the infusion brings the total raised by JustFab to $235 million since its launch in March 2010. The company has been dabbling in apparel with the current 500 stockkeeping units to exceed 5,000 in the first quarter of next year. The company is projecting retail sales north of $500 million next year.
