Gucci Taps Kate Moss for Short Film

Supermodel Kate Moss will star in a short film for Gucci. Dedicated to the Jackie Bag, the film will be unveiled today on the fashion house’s social media networks. Gucci’s YouTube Channel will have the director’s cut later on. “I have always admired Kate- she is an icon of today. A trendsetter, an independent woman and absolutely contemporary. She embodies my fall-winter collection as a sophisticated woman who dresses to please herself rather than others,” said Gucci Creative Director Frida Giannini.

Barneys Partners with Baz Luhrmann

Barneys New York has announced a holiday collaboration with director Baz Luhrmann and his wife, costume and set designer Catherine Martin.  Dubbed The Baz Dazzled holiday program, the partnership will include decorating the flagship store’s windows, facade, in-store displays, products, gift cards and print and digital advertising. Barneys, Luhrmann and Martin have created a world filled with woodland creatures and a crest that will appear on shopping bags, gift cards and displays. This will no doubt be a beautiful collaboration, as Luhrmann is the director of visually stunning films like “Moulin Rouge,” “Romeo + Juliet” and “The Great Gatsby.” Barneys is donating 25 percent of sales from all Baz Dazzled holiday products to charity.

Twitter Debuts ‘Buy’ Button for Ecommerce

Twitter is set to make an entrance into the world of e-commerce. The social network is debuting a “buy” button that will appear next to tweets, letting users to buy directly from the tweet. Burberry is the only brand from the luxury fashion world participating in today’s trial launch. If a user clicks the “buy” button, will only have to enter payment and shipping information once. After that, when a customer buys an item from a tweet, all they do is confirm the purchase and the product will be shipped automatically. Everything will happen without leaving Twitter- yikes, how tempting!
