Jimmy Choo Flagship Opens in London

Jimmy Choo has opened its largest flagship on the site of its former store at No. 27 New Bond Street in London. The 2,160-square-foot space has three floors and was designed by David Collins Studio. The full range of Jimmy Choo merchandise is available there, including shoes, bags, fragrance and eyewear. There’s also a bridal salon featuring a fully stocked marble bar with velvet seating. The art deco-inspired decor is warm and luxurious, featuring chandeliers and hints of gold. “I needed it to feel intimate, I needed it to feel like a house. There are different zones to think, shop and play- a place you want to come with your girlfriends,” said creative director Sandra Choi.

Jean Paul Gaultier is Stopping RTW

Jean Paul Gaultier is stopping his women’s and men’s ready-to-wear collections, including accessories. The iconic designer will devote his time entirely to couture, perfume and other projects. Gaultier’s last RTW Collection will be shown at the Grand Rex on September 27th during Paris Fashion Week for spring-summer 2015. He will continue to create stage costumes for musicians like Kylie Minogue.

John Galliano Makes First Appearance

Yesterday, John Galliano made his first French television appearance since 2011 when he was famously fired as creative director of Dior and his namesake fashion house for making racist and anti-Semitic comments. The designer was interviewed on Canal Plus’ show “Le Supplément” as part of his latest media campaign, which in addition included another interview published in June in the French publication Le Point. Galliano told interviewer Maïtena Biraben he was in the midst of a return “back into creativity,” and mentioned his job as creative director for the Russian perfume company L’Etoile and his mentor role to students at Central Saint Martins in London.
