Select Chicago fashion editors had the opportunity to meet Tracey Lomrantz Lester, Senior Editorial Director of GILT.com at a special event last Thursday at ZaZaZoo Salon. Tracey was in town to celebrate the launch of the GILT Best Foot Forward for Fall shoe sale! We enjoyed pedicures, snacks and shoe talk! What a perfect combination.
This sale centers around GILT’s exclusive shoe collections, including Maiden Lane, Ava & Aiden, Renvy, Pure Navy and Elorie. You may have noticed these private label brands before as I did, so I was glad to be able to actually touch and feel the shoes. These collections offer totally on-trend styling with real leather, suede, embossed leather or haircalf uppers. From flats to heels to boots, the Best Foot Forward collection includes a wide variety of covetable styles, just in time for fall! Who doesn’t want a new pair of shoes (or two) to refresh your wardrobe for the season? The only problem may be how to narrow down the number of styles to get. I fell in love with too many pairs, but at these prices you can collect as many styles as you like! Here as just a few of my favorites.
Tracey also informed us about another shoe sale that is still in progress but may be ending soon. Check out the GILT Glamour shoe collection. Glamour editors collaborated with GILT where each had the opportunity to design their own pair of dream shoes to be sold at GILT. This was a first of its kind collaboration for GILT thanks to Tracey, who was a Glamour Fashion Editor before GILT!
Besides all the shoe talk of course we chatted about fashion. Tracey’s favorite spring 2015 fashion trends include sneakers, 70s Looks and NormCore*. You don’t have to wait until spring because right now you can shop GILT for sneakers, 70s style Missoni ponchos and NormCore track pants to jump on these trends.

* What’s NormCore? you might be asking. NormCore is a unisex fashion trend that’s simply unpretentious and average-looking clothing. The term combines the words “normal” and “hardcore.” Think of items like jeans, t-shirts and khakis and brands like GAP, Banana Republic and the like. The “normcore” trend has been interpreted as a reaction to a fashion oversaturation resulting from ever faster-changing fashion trends. Sort of like fashion burnout or non-fashion fashion.
