Beauty-Workout-Makeup-Bag

The holidays are already taking a toll on my waistline and the festivities have just begun. However, I have no intention of facing the health club crowd in January to work off the extra pounds. Instead, I plan to get in as many workouts now and during the holidays. I usually make excuses this time of year that I have too many things to do, like shopping and attending parties and events and not enough time to make it to the gym. It seems difficult to get ready to go anywhere else after a workout, but I found a solution. I put together a beauty bag exclusively for my gym bag. Now I won’t have to take extra time to switch products around in order to get to fitness classes, and I have no more excuses!

Here’s what’s in my workout beauty bag and I’ll help you create your own.

1. Makeup Bag

You probably have an extra travel or makeup bag but you can also use this as an excuse to get a new one! Find a lightweight waterproof bag that is small yet still has room for all you need to carry with a zipper. I like this sporty pink bag.

ULTA Tinted PVC Clutch in Pink, $12

2. Travel Kit Bottles

I work out at Equinox fitness club, so I am lucky they supply Kiehl’s shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, body and face lotion. If you need or prefer to bring your own skincare, simply fill up inexpensive travel bottles.

Travel Smart 3-Piece Bottle Pouch, $5.99

3. CC Cream or Foundation

Bring your own BB Cream, CC Cream or foundation in a sample size or a travel size.

Smashbox Camera Ready Travel-Size CC Cream SPF 30 Dark Spot Correcting .5 fl oz, $19

4. Makeup Pallet with Brushes

This color pallet is fantastic because it includes eyeshadows, blush and brushes! Now is a great time to find makeup pallets like this because there are holiday specials. It makes a great gift, too.

LORAC ‘PRO to Go’ Eye/Cheek Palette ($210 Value), $38

5. Hair Brush and Hairstyling Products

I like to bring a small styling brush and this set from Drybar has dry shampoo and detangler, too.

Drybar Up, Up And Away! Set ($43 Value), $25

6. Hair Tool

You may like to use a curling iron or a flat iron for your hair, so find a small travel size.

Sephora Collection Tame: Mini Flat Iron, $21

7. Brows

I can’t go out without filling in my brows a bit! This brush-in brow filler is small and mighty.

Benefit Cosmetics Gimme Brow, $22

8. Eyeliner

This is a personal preference, but if you are like me and always use eyeliner, bring a self-sharpening or retractable one. An inexpensive one will do like this one from Almay!

Almay Intense i-Color Eyeliner, $4.99

9. Mascara

Make sure you have mascara! A tried and true drugstore brand is all you need.

Maybelline Volum’ Express The Falsies Mascara Very Black, $6.99

Lipsticks, lipglosses, concealer and a face powder compact are always in my handbag, so there’s no need to add those to my workout beauty bag. Always be ready for workouts with your own extra beauty bag. Enjoy the holiday season and don’t stop your fitness routine!
