It’s a fact: we spend approximately one third of our lives sleeping. But many of us neglect our nighttime wardrobes, opting instead for old t-shirts, ratty leggings, oversize hoodies, worn sweatpants, or similar schlubby clothing. What’s more, these somewhat sad types of clothing are considered to be acceptable loungewear to loaf around the house as well.
Ladies, we deserve better than that. Not only do you look better in flattering, yet cozy pieces when you are relaxing at home, you feel better too.
Not So Basic Black. A pair of simple but elegant menswear inspired pajamas are the sleepwear equivalent of a little black dress. Something like this Josie “Roza” satin set is simply perfect. Or get a set in your favorite color – it will be something that will make you smile every time you put them on.
Get Slinky With It. On the other hand, you don’t necessarily need to be all covered up to be comfortable, as this sexy but relaxed silky camisole and tap pants set by Flora Gold proves. There are plenty of similar options available at all price points as well – even if you’re alone, there’s no reason not to look glamorous at night. If you don’t like satin, this simple and sleek Calvin Klein slip is a good option.
Or Go For Modern Graphics. Sleepwear doesn’t have to be limited to the typical solid color satins, silks and cottons. A bold modern print like this brown and gold giraffe inspired print nightshirt by DKNY is so adorable, you’ll be tempted to wear it outside with leggings and boots.
Invest In Your Basics. While splurging on pajamas may seem like an unnecessary luxury, chances are that you’ll be spending plenty of time wearing it. Therefore, a pair of perfectly fitted seamless pants like this Cosabella straight leg pair, or something more fancy such as a beautiful lace and silk camisole like this violet blue number (also by Cosabella) can be a worthwhile investment.
What you wear to sleep or simply lounge around your home and binge-watch Netflix ( I know I’m not the only one that does that!) matters. You can be classy, fashionable and comfortable – all at the same time!
