I recently visited one of SpaWeek’s featured spas, right in my Long Island neighborhood! Last week I went to The Medical Spa of Brian D. Cohen M.D. in Great Neck, NY which is a state-of-the-art medical spa that offers the latest technology in Non Surgical and Non Invasive procedures and treatments for a youthful um, refresher. Services include not only Botox, but fillers like Restylane, Juvéderm and Radiesse. One can also get Fraxel Laser Treatments, HydraFacials and Scar Revisions…all in office. I knew I  was in desperate need of some Botox. The stress of my father’s recent passing added 10 years to me physically almost overnight.

I met with Board Certified Plastic Surgeon Dr. Cohen who also performs a wide array of cosmetic surgery procedures, specializing in procedures of the face, eyes, nose, breast and body. I was a little apprehensive about not going into the city for a procedure (call me a snob), but the facilities were exactly like the Park Ave. ones I have been to in Manhattan (state-of-the-art and spotless) and learning about Dr. Cohen’s extensive cosmetic surgery background and talking to him about my aging skin, I was immediately put to ease. He obviously knows what he’s doing. The combination of his  artistry, meticulous attention to detail and actively listening to patients allows him to create an individualized treatment plan that leads to beautiful results. I am always scared of looking fake and frozen, but he assured me I would not. He also has the softest hand at injecting Botox. It usually stings, but I was amazed it didn’t this time! In fact, I hardly felt it and a few days later, I look much better and more rested.

Dr. Cohen’s medical spa director has over 20 years of spa experience and the estheticians are highly trained and certified. Dr. Cohen also sells his own scientifically developed medical grade skin care line to aid in augmenting  treatments and helping maintain a youthful look which I am looking forward to trying my next visit.
