American Apparel Calls on Moelis & Co.
American Apparel Inc. has hired investment bank Moelis & Co. to explore strategic options for their finances. Moelis will review interests from potential acquirers, such as Irving Place Capital, and will also evaluate the company’s capital structure. This move is proof the company is untangling the web of people trying to control it. American Apparel is also preparing for the possibility of being sued by founder and former CEO Dov Charney. Rumors are swirling that he could be seeking damages of more than $100 million. Shares of American Apparel have spiked in recent weeks in hopes of a takeover.
Lady Gaga for Shiseido
Lady Gaga is the new face of Shiseido‘s 2015 New Year’s campaign in Japan. The pop star is also its photographer- she shot fifty different selfies of her famous face for the ad campaign. Each image will appear in a different Japanese newspaper over the New Year period, which is a busy shopping time for the Japanese. Forty-six of the ads will be published on January 1st and the remaining four will be released on January 5th.
