While preparing for the Golden Globes this Sunday, I almost forgot about the People’s Choice Awards last night! If you want to know the truth, the People’s Choice is important for a number of reasons. First, it’s really the kick-off for the awards season. Second, it’s the first big awards show event where you’ll see tons of stars. Third, it IS the people’s choice. That means the fans have a say in who wins!
Honestly however, I wish I had a little more say in what the stars wore! Maybe then we would have seen more gowns and less jumpsuits. Then again, the People’s Choice Awards are always more casual than, say, the Oscars. The celebrities are waiting to pull out the big guns for the biggest awards show of the season.
That being said, there were some fashion winners in bright colors, black and white, and yes, even those jumpsuits. Here are some of the best dressed winners from the People’s Choice 2015.
Major props to Kristen Bell. You’d never know that she gave birth to her second child just 3 weeks ago! And yet, the gorgeous color and silhouette of this Monique Lhuillier dress hides just about everything for a new mother. Not that Kristen Bell has anything to hide…
Amy Adams, one of the stars you’re going to see all over the red carpet this season – skipped the People’s Choice red carpet but still looked ravishing in her blue strapless Gucci midi. Knee length dresses are on their way back and Adams always picks the best colors for herself. This isn’t her first time wearing cobalt blue.
Viola Davis looks smoking in this number and the color is gorgeous on her!
Black & White
Best dressed of the night? Certainly the only one to wear such a jaw-dropping gown. Who is this Stana Katic from Castle? I do not really know her but she certainly looks gorgeous in this Carolina Herrera gown and stands out in the crowd.
I haven’t seen this American Idol star on a red carpet in ages, but Katherine McPhee certainly looks smoking – as only Balmain can do!
Ginnifer Goodwin also gave birth recently. She looks a bit more frumpy than Kristen Bell, but I know this is sort of her style – to go a little more conservative, yet experimental.
I adore this outfit on Olivia Munn…but kind of wish there wasn’t a matching crop top with that gorgeous pencil skirt by Giambattista Valli. I see what she was trying to do but I think it would have been preffereable to have a solid white top rather than the matchy-but-not-matchy big stripes. What do you think?
I’m never really OK with Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting‘s fashion choices. She always tries so hard and looks so bad. Did you know that this is a top tucked into a pair of culottes? That being said, she has a great body and I do love that she cut all her hair off and still looks great. I like that she went muted for People’s Choice (she was a host once and she had her moment) but I don’t like the tucked in top.
Going with the whole casual, but not casual vibe, a few stars wore suits! Ironically, the lining on these suits made them look more like tuxedos which is what I think these stars were going for.
Sure, I could have put this number into the black & white category, but it looks silver and besides, that whole sheer over short skirt trend is so hot right now! It’s young and fresh, and Sarah Hyland wears it well.
Please no more crop tops!
Chloe Moretz is always fun to look different from the pack. And yet, most of the time, she never forgets her youth, in a cool, hip way.
Is it just me or does this dress look like it should be on someone older? I love Carolina Herrera, but this is a mature woman dress, not a Karina Smirnoff dress.
Anna Faris wore a Juan Carlos Obando number and Allison Janney wore a Rani Zakhem gown.
