When you have big awards shows like the Oscars and the Golden Globes, many don’t pay much attention to the ones sandwiched between. Still, this is the one of the best opportunities to see the fashionistas really shine, and in looks that are glamorous without being over the top. The 20th Critics Choice Movie Awards were no exception. Let’s take a look at which stars shined and which ones needed a little more work.

Best Dressed of the Night

Reese Witherspoon in Lanvin

Reese’s Lanvin two-tone bodice and skirt was by far the best look of the night. It was different, it was beautiful, and the magenta looked tremendous with her blonde hair. It was hard to beat this look, which essentially had it all.

The Unforgettable

Emily Blunt in Emilio Pucci

I’ve rarely seen Emily Blunt in a bad look. She wows once again.

Angelina Jolie in Atelier Versace

Although the color on Angelina Jolie is not one we’re used to from the actress, I’m starting to tire of her constant war between conservative and flashy. I feel like she likes to wow with colors but then plays them down with her sleeves and I can’t really figure out what she wants from us. Nevertheless, it’s hard for Angelina to look bad.

Jennifer Aniston in Gucci

There was something so surprising and wonderful about this low-cut menswear suit on Jennifer Aniston, and yet, when I saw it – it reminded me of something she would wear. Although one could argue that it’s a fabulous departure from her typical little black dress.

A little Angelina Jolie leg action here.

Julianne Moore in Saint Laurent

Not always a fan of the black gown at an awards show, but I love the detail in the neckline of this Saint Laurent dress. And it looks fabulous on Julianne Moore.

Keira Knightley in Delpozo

I know that everyone is raving about this Delpozo gown on Keira Knightley – and she hides her baby bump well. But is anyone else reminded of the Chanel gown from the Golden Gowns? I feel like it’s the same exact style – and I wish she’d change it up.

Diane Kruger in Naeem Khan

Naeem Khan‘s work is so embroidered, beaded, complicated, intricate…only Diane Kruger can turn the high end designer into one that can fit her high end boho ways. Nevertheless, that blue lace print is powerful and one you won’t soon forget.

Jessica Chastain in Antonio Berardi

Jessica Chastain played up the high neck dress a little better than the rest with this cool, futuristic Antonio Berardi creation.

Marion Cotillard in Dior

A bit of a wrinkled skirt, but Marion Cotillard never goes wrong in Dior.

Felicity Jones in Dolce & Gabbana

I’m eager to see more Dolce & Gabbana on the red carpet. I like how Felicity Jones went for her high neck collar at the Golden Globes and sheer texture at the Critic’s Choice. This girl knows what looks good on her and it works.

Jamie Chung in Yanina Couture

Always a fan of Jamie Chung‘s style.

The More Forgettable

Rosamund Pike in Valentino

Sad to come out and say this but why are Rosamund’s breasts always drooping? She doesn’t need to have the world’s best body, but why can’t she find a dress that fits her better? Or a better bra?

Amy Adams in Max Mara

The color doesn’t look good against Amy Adams‘ skin. Same goes for Selma star Carmen Eigo.
