Sassoon Salon introduced their new BLOW & STYLE menu this month, featuring gorgeously tousled waves, big-volume curls, fishtail braids and a variety of seemingly effortless ponytails! Now you can try the expertise of a Sassoon stylist to simply rock a sleek new hairstyle, learn best techniques to style your hair or to customize a special look just for you – perhaps for a special occasion.
Marilyn at Sassoon Chicago has cut my hair for years (almost a decade now) and I love how she styles it in Sassoon’s sleek “signature” style. To my amazement it always lasts for several days. So I was interested to see if she could add a few waves to my hair. We went for a looser “Curly Wave” from Sassoon’s BLOW & STYLE menu, which includes a shampoo. To my damp hair Marilyn applied Moroccan Oil Mousse. My hair is fine and I don’t have a lot of it, so this helped give it volume and hold. Next she lightly blew my hair dry. Then she sectioned off small parts and sprayed each section with Kerastase Laque Dentelle (a light hairspray) and then wrapped them around a heated styling wand. In fact, she did exactly what you can see in this video below with Sassoon UK Creative Director Bruce Masefield (who personally trained Marilyn). After every section was curled Marilyn used her hands to comb through and loosen the the curls while applying a touch of Divines Invisible Serum.
I loved having a different look with Curly Waves!
The style lasted for several days, which is a first when my hair is styled with waves. Next time I want to try the Signature (see the video below) or the Loose Wave, or the Polished Wave…or maybe the Beach Wave. These Sassoon styles are all so cool and addictive – I want to try them all!
