Butter London Takes On Masstige

Butter London Founder, Nonie Crème is launching a new line of masstige color cosmetics by the name of Nonie Creme Colour Prevails. At the end of January, Colour Prevails will launch on and and will roll out to 3,000 Walgreens stores by March, potentially ramping up to 5,000 units by year-end. The range includes over 140 stockkeeping units.

The collection will be shelved on three-foot gondolas and there will be testers at every station, an element that is rarely seen in a mass-market retailer. Creme is also unveiling semi-permanent hair dyes called No Regrets. The color cosmetics line ranges from $9 for liquid eyeliner to $19 for an eye shadow palette. The assortment of hair dyes is priced from $10.99 to $12.99.

Kendall Jenner’s First Estée Lauder Appearance

Estée Lauder newbie Kendall Jenner landed her first ad job since signing with the brand in November: a 38-second, black-and-white online film for Estée Lauder’s new Little Black Primer. The product can be used as a mascara base or topcoat to make it long-lasting, or on its own as a subtle tint of black. It is rolling out now and retails for $24. The film is appearing on YouTube and currently.

Smashbox Studios Reopens

The 25,000-square-foot Smashbox Studios facility, which is located in Los Angeles, has been renovated in partnership with Industrial Color Brands, a creative production software company. The space has been transformed with upgrades such as additional power, a café and custom-designed makeup tables, among other things. Smashbox Cosmetics are available to all makeup artists working at the studios, but they are not required to use them. When the makeup artists arrive for the first time, they are given a welcome kit of cosmetics and can request additional products if needed. Next month, Smashbox Studios will partner with Smashbox Cosmetics and The Hollywood Reporter to celebrate the space’s reopening.
