Pantone 2015 Colors Of the Year

You may have noticed a 70s revival happening on the runway this season—bellbottoms, fringe, V-necks, and more. Well the trend doesn’t stop at silhouette. Pantone has announced the color report for Fall 2015, and it is groovy.

Dried Herb: a warm, olive green easy to pair with all of your fall staples. This is the perfect color for a bomber jacket, or, in the case of Charlotte Ronson’s latest collection, an ankle-length, suede maxi skirt.

Desert Sage: a cool, earthy green that will make you feel like you’re in the Mojave Desert.

Stormy Weather: a deep, charcoal gray with a touch of blue, easy to pair with almost any color. Nicole Miller featured this color heavily in the many prints of her Fall 2015 collection.

Oak Bluff: a cheerful goldenrod tone that will brighten up your fall wardrobe, definitely reminiscent of the 1970s.

Marsala: a wine tone, of course. This is a slightly softer shade of maroon, but still a fall classic. This hue also has a 70s vibe to it. Rebecca Minkoff’ played with this shade in many of her bohemian jackets and patterned dresses this season.

Biscay Bay: a bright, energetic teal, evocative of tropical waters. Christian Siriano chose to include a few dresses in this hue in his newest collection, but the result felt more like resort wear than fall attire.

Reflecting Pond: a dark and romantic midnight blue, the perfect color for an evening dress. I suggest the long sleeve number shimmering with sequins in Prabal Gurung’s collection.

Cadmium Orange: a fleshy apricot color, this shade is a little brighter than you might expect for fall.

Cashmere Rose: a soft and cuddly pink. Several looks in Kate Spade New York’s new collection came in this ultra-feminine bubblegum hue.

Amethyst Orchid: a bright shade of purple that comes off a little elementary in my opinion.
