John Galliano Appeals Court Decision
John Galliano’s lawyer has appealed a verdict by a Paris labor court. They rejected the designer’s claims of wrongful dismissal after he was fired from Christian Dior and his namesake house for making racist and anti-Semitic comments in 2011. The drama continued as Chantal Giraud-van Gaver of Coblence & Associés announced the filing against the ruling in this long-running case. “Given the deadlines for the Paris Court of Appeals, the case should be heard in 2017,” the lawyer said. Yikes, guess this isn’t the last we’ll be hearing from the controversial designer, who is now creative director at Maison Martin Margiela. He’s still seeking damages between 2.4 and 13 million euros.
