Sally LaPointe has become a must-see show in my book. While viewing her Fall ’15 collection at New York Fashion Week I wanted to wrap myself in look after look. The gorgeous double-face wools, mink and fox fur trims, silks and leather are always sculpted into perfectly flattering shapes. I was tempted to grab the french grey double face wool cocoon coat with the Saga cross fox stole directly off the model, wear it right then and there and all (freezing cold) fashion week long.

Inspired by legendary modern dance performer and choreographer Pina Bausch, Sally LaPointe set out to show raw and natural looks along with the unexpected in her collection. A simple and demure look in black with a high fur cowl collar from the front turned to reveal an open back with free-flowing fringe. LaPointe’s use of cut outs, architectural shapes, texture and fringe embellishments stood out but were never overdone. Wherever this woman was going, I wanted to go there, too.

Her colors were mostly neutrals in greys, creams and black as well as a rich jewel-tone multicolored sequined reptile print used in several looks with one shot of citrine in a washed silk dress. The fabrics and materials included double faced wool, wool crepe, leather, mink, fox, cashwool knits, silks, embroidered fringe and sequins.
