Cynthia Rowley Tests Fitness Collection

Cynthia Rowley is breaking into the activewear market. She quietly released her first sportswear collection this spring and plans to fully launch it in the fall. To test her new collection, she plans to offer fitness classes at her new headquarters in West Village, New York. Her employees and friends will be the first to experience the line. The fall collection is composed of 35 pieces including a quilted puffer vest and fleece-lined jackets, as well as essentials like sports bras and leggings. Rowley wanted to create a line that could also be worn pre- and post-workout. Wholesale prices range from $40 to $95, with some more expensive outerwear pieces wholesaling for $225. The spring collection will be available this week from Carbon38, Net-a-sporter and Bandier. Bloomingdales will carry the fall line later this year.

Olivia Wilde Appears in H&M’s Conscious Exclusive Ad Campaign

Olivia Wilde, the actress and cofounder of philanthropic e–commerce site Conscious Commerce, is the new face of H&M’s Conscious Exclusive Ad Campaign. The campaign which was shot by Lachlan Bailey and styled by Ludivine Poiblanc will be unveiled today. In the ad Wilde wears a silk tuxedo blazer and a sleeveless evening gown with a hand-drawn print of birds. Wilde teamed up with H&M and last year on a clothes recycling campaign called Comeback. “I hope the collection empowers women around the world who love fashion but want to consume it in a more sustainable way. It gives them the chance to look their best, and also act responsibly,” Wilde told WWD.

Glamour Moves Toward E-commerce

Karina Dobrotvorskaya, president and editorial director of brand development at Condé Nast International, revealed to WWD last week that Glamour Magazine plans to break into e-commerce sometime this year. The new venture will also include some of Condé Nast’s other titles and will start in the UK and US, then spread to all markets. Glamour is also working to release two new editions in Iceland and Turkey. The magazine has the highest circulation of all of Condé Nast’s titles.
